Scuderia Southwest October 2019 Scottsdale Motorsports Gathering

A few thousand people descended on the Scottsdale 101 Shopping Center on Saturday morning October 5 to see a couple of hundred of the most exotic high-performance cars in the state. Scuderia Southwest (SSW), organizers of the show, have downsized from 800 cars to less than 300 as the show had grown unwieldy and difficult to manage. The new format restricts entry to vehicles that the organizers judge to be true high-performance exotics. Scuderia Southwest have also converted to a paid membership model where in addition to the show they will be offering their members a variety of activities including drives, […]

Porsche Perfect- Porsche Unveils New Driver Programs for Phoenix-area Owners

Let’s face it, the way we drive is changing, and rapidly. Back in 2013, Lyft only had about two million monthly users on its app. Now, it sees around 23 million. Uber, which has its tech-savvy tentacles in everything from scooters to bikes to buses to freight trucks, sees around 75 million monthly users hailing rides through the app worldwide. The general sense in recent years has been that these apps and others like them would kill the car, or at least car ownership. But for those who like a personalized driving experience where they don’t have to worry about getting […]

Tundra and Tacoma from Toyota

Tacoma or Tundra, midsize or full size, V-6 or V-8, V-neck or button down? At first encounter, the smaller Tacoma exhales youth, adventure and “bring-it-on” fun, especially in the unmistakable Voodoo Blue TRD Pro model my son and I recently drove in Phoenix/ Scottsdale. In contrast, the brawny Tundra 4×4 has the demeanor of a work-ethic family-provider truck, although, equipped with the TRD Sport package and 4 WD as ours was, it’s also equal to off-the-jobsite thrills in backcountry, desert and other challenging terrain. Our model sported fetching but somewhat more traditional Barcelona Red livery. The “TRD” acknowledges the inspiration of […]
