The Annual AZ Jet Center Event Hangar Party is April 20
Charity and camaraderie join on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., when the Jet Center Foundation hosts its annual AZ Jet Center charity hangar party to benefit Angel Flight West at Sawyer Aviation Private Hangar, 15035 North 73rd Street, in the Scottsdale Airpark.
While enjoying exotic cars from local enthusiasts, charter and private jets, aviation enthusiasts, automotive aficionados and philanthropists will enjoy Chef Titina’s gourmet Argentinian food; an open bar featuring Corrido Tequila; a wine pull; silent auction offerings; and live music, Notes from Neptune. Attendees will also learn about the remarkable work by the event’s beneficiary.
For more than three decades, Angel Flight West has been providing free air transportation to patients needing medical treatment, ensuring they can access the care they require regardless of financial circumstances. Helped by volunteer pilots and donors, the group makes 5,000 trips per year; in 2023, it reached the 100,000-flights milestone.
“Now on our seventh year at Scottsdale, we are honored with our partnership with Angel Flight West”, says Katrina Couch, president of the Jet Center Foundation, a Tucson Arizona-based 501c3 event company committed to supporting charitable causes. She explains that the Angel Flight West team is often flying human tissue or needed organs for an emergency use to a patient desperately needing the replacement.
“Knowing the volunteer spirit of the pilots and community to help people get to important medical appointments and the impact they provide make the efforts so worthwhile,” she explains. “And, the complimentary support of organ transport, which our wonderful host Sawyer Aviation also provides, adds such great synergy that we know we are in the right place supporting the right people.”
To Couch, the experience has become personal in the last several years. Her niece, who never smoked, received a double lung transplant, and her grandchild received a new heart. “We even have a partner at this year’s event who is a recipient of a new kidney and pancreas to eliminate the dialysis and insulin formerly needed,” she says.
“Angel Flight is amazing, and doing our part to support the many moving parts that make this happen is rewarding and worth all the effort we give,” Couch adds. “The Scottsdale community has really stepped up to support the work we do to create these opportunities, and we are humbled.”
