Micah Kinsler’s MiCamp
Delivers FinTech Solutions to the Automotive Industry & MiCamp Cares to the Community
In late 2006, Scottsdale entrepreneur Micah Kinsler recognized that his businesses were being faced with extremely high credit card fees, which adversely impacted his bottom line and ultimately his ability to give back to his community. After doing extensive research and in typical “Micah” form, he concluded that it would be best to take matters into his own hands and create a financial company that was more efficient, customer-focused, compassionate, innovative, and above all else, more human. In 2007, MiCamp Solutions, LLC (“MiCamp”) was born. MiCamp is a revolutionary FinTech company that develops technology-leveraged financial processing innovations for companies worldwide, including many serving the automotive industry.
Today, MiCamp provides industry-leading solutions to over 17,000 clients worldwide, processes $9 billion in financial transactions annually, works with 400 independent service organizations, and is in the Top 5 Fiserv ISO Chairman’s Circle. In 2020, MiCamp was named for a second time to the Inc. 5000, ranking 2,542, and has been nominated for the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics for seven consecutive years. “We have never lost sight of our original vision of always putting our clients and merchants first,” says Micah Kinsler, President of MiCamp Solutions, LLC.
Last year, MiCamp partnered with CDK Global, a pioneer in automotive-dealer management software, to integrate its proprietary WAVitÆ payment platform to help dealerships nationwide reduce their credit card processing fees and increase profits. The entire program launches mid-2021 and is set to make an enormously positive impact on dealerships across the country.
“We unveiled our bold vision for a payment-processing platform that could overcome rampant inefficiencies within the automotive industry. Our goal was to deliver value-added FinTech to an industry absolutely starving for it,” says Bob Baratta, MiCamp’s automotive strategic partner.
He explains that the MiCamp development team began working with various dealers and CDK Global through its app marketplace, using programming interfaces to gain access to timely reporting and support. “In this way, we were able to provide efficient and cost-saving products and solutions that ultimately improved the dealers’ payment-processing experience,” he adds.
MiCamp’s WAVit® solution provides free processing, multi-tender acceptance, including Venmo® and PayPal® with traditional payment card tenders and text-to-pay technology. “The WAVit® ‘solve for’ list keeps growing,” says Mr. Baratta, “and we are delighted to deliver on these dealer needs.”
As part of MiCamp’s investment in the community, Kinsler recently debuted MiCamp’s charity division, MiCamp Cares, which works with strategically aligned non-profit organizations across Arizona. For 2021, MiCamp Cares’ charitable-contributions focus is currently targeted at four categories: Youth, Sports, Military & First Responders, and Suicide Prevention & Mental Health. Every quarter, MiCamp Cares diligently evaluates and then chooses organizations that most closely align with MiCamp Cares’ charitable focus and then donates financial and human resources to those organizations to help them better achieve their goals.
This quarter MiCamp Cares has selected two charities; the Ryan Yarter Foundation, which focuses on mental health and suicide prevention, and the Hall of Flame Museum/Honor365, a charity with several strategic goals, but having one goal very much in lockstep with one of MiCamp Cares’: ending suicide by veterans and first responders. To honor the annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Car Auction, Micah chose to highlight the Hall of Flame museum and one of their vintage fire trucks.
