Barrett-Jackson’s Palm Beach Auction 17 is Largest Ever

The 17th Annual Palm Beach Auction in April marked the Scottsdale-based company’s largest three-day Florida event,  posting 632 vehicles for $30-plus million –– an impressive 98.9-percent sell-through-rate. In addition, 258 pieces of automobilia generated almost $500,000, and $550,000 was raised for charity from the sale of three vehicles. Approximately 1,500 bidders attended as well as many gate attendees. Resto-Mods remain in high demand, including the auction leader, a 1947 Buick Super 8 Custom Convertible (Lot #735), which brought $412,500. Camelback Vintage Motor Show Debuts April 6 in Paradise Valley

The inaugural Camelback Vintage Motor Show is Saturday, April 6, 8–11 a.m., at Camelback Bible Church, 3900 East Stanford Drive, just across the street from Phoenix Country Day School in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The event is limited to 125 cars built 1976 and before, and the $25 vehicle Entry Fee will be donated to Hope Women’s Center, which will be running the registration booth. Mecum Dallas Posts $30 Million in Sales

A 2017 Ford GT (Lot #S69) brought $1,320,000 and a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (S123) $440,000 to lead all cars at Mecum Dallas 2018, October 3–6. A 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder (Lot #749) brought $1.76 million to lead all sales during the 11th Las Vegas Barrett-Jackson auction, September 27–29, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. In total, 733 vehicles, most offered at No Reserve, sold for a Las Vegas event record of more than $32.9 million –– a 100 percent sell-through.
