Volvo Cars Gilbert
The Cvijanovich family is celebrating a fourth Valley dealership.
Volvo Cars Gilbert opened November 1, 2017, at 3285 S. Gilbert Road, just north of the Santan 202 Freeway in Gilbert, Arizona.
The single-story, 35,000 square-foot building is on five-acres at the new Rivulon complex, a premiere 250-acre mixed- use development. John Mahoney was the architect and Colton Constructors the general contractor, both Tempe businesses.
“Selecting Gilbert and the Rivulon business development for our new Volvo dealership was absolutely the right decision, considering its location squarely in the middle of Phoenix’s East Valley communities,” says owner Richard Cvijanovich. “The tremendous economic, population and business expansion taking place within Gilbert and surrounding markets supports the development of a luxury dealership offering.”
Chandler residents, Richard and Lisa Cvijanovich also own Porsche Chandler (PorscheChandler.com), and, on the same corner, Subaru Superstore of Chandler, and Subaru Superstore of Surprise (ShopSubaru.com), and a high-end luxury collision center, Autobahn Collision (AutobahnCollision.com), which debuted in Chandler in August 2017.
Employing 48, the Volvo Cars Gilbert complex comprises a state-of-the-art sales area featuring an eight-vehicle in-door showroom with two additional delivery bays, air-conditioned service department with fully enclosed vehicle drive-in/drop-off, “living room” waiting areas and an expansive Volvo parts and accessories warehouse.
Clients can see the full line of Volvo cars, including SUVs, Sedans and Crossover-Wagons. The SUVs are led by the full-size XC90, featuring contemporary Scandinavian design and an interior with seven seats, Nappa leather and flame birch wood trim. Four models are offered: the Momentum, Inscription, R-Design and the luxury Excellence. Other SUV models include the new XC60 and the company’s smallest SUV, the XC40.
Sedans include the S90, with more standard safety features than the Audi A6, the BMW 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and the smaller S60. And, the Crossover-Wagon category has the V60 and the company’s flagship, the Volvo V90 Cross Country, with large wheels, increased ground clearance and sophisticated chassis for the toughest conditions: cold Sweden to the hot Sonoran Desert.
Certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles are also offered. Each CPO Volvo passes a rigorous certification process. “We inspect all areas of each vehicle — more than 130 inspection points — and bring it up to exacting factory specifications. Then, we certify the vehicle and issue an up to seven-year/ 100,000-mile exclusionary warranty to the new owner,” Cvijanovich says.
“Everything about Volvo Cars Gilbert is focused on providing the very best-in-class client sales and service experience possible,” Cvijanovich adds. “We are committed to Volvo’s three corporate core values: safety, quality and care for the environment.”
At Volvo Cars Gilbert, clients, for instance, can view their vehicles through the service drive viewing window, and a luxurious lounge includes Wi-Fi, electronic equipment outlets, a café with complementary food/beverages and a boutique featuring Volvo-branded items, parts and accessories.
“From its first series-produced car in 1927, the PV4, quality has been paramount at Volvo, which has built cars equal to the demanding Scandinavian climate for 90 years,” Cvijanovich explains.
“This tradition has continued through iconic cars such as the two-seat sports car, the P1800, the two-door 262C, designed by Volvo and produced by Bertone in Italy, and the 850, which was offered with a turbocharger option during its production years. We are proud at Volvo Cars Gilbert to participate in this great car-making legacy.”
