Trust Sotheby’s Network for all Your Assets
Aazami on Luxury Real Estate
Last month, I discussed my recent trip to New York City where I was honored to join 99 Sotheby’s International Realty top revenue (TOP 100) producers for 2022 in our company’s United States network.
My trip reaffirmed how our professionals represent the best practice and properties, providing sellers better market trends, accurate stats and finest exposure for their homes. They consistently demonstrate efficiency and success in reaching qualified buyers both locally and internationally. We collaborated and discussed enhanced tactics to cross-promote, refer, inspire, unite, and motivate our book of business. I am pleased to be among them.
Founded in 1976, the Sotheby’s International Realty network was designed to connect the finest independent real estate companies to prestigious clientele worldwide. Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC is a subsidiary of Realogy Holdings Corp., which created an alliance with New York City-based Sotheby’s, the operator of the auction house, in February 2004.
We are a global company, too, meticulously representing clients in 75-plus countries. All of us are locally based and globally focused. In fact, this month, I am joining Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate in Barcelona Spain, where I will be a guest panelist with associates from Europe and Asia and visit luxury and hyperluxury estates. We’ll review best practices to utilize RM and Concierge Auctions platforms in handling automotive collections inside these homes.
Of course for more than 275 years our ART, JEWLERY, fine WINE collectors have sold their goods through us. Clients, for example, may be looking to sell their oenological trove. Whether it’s Chateau Lafite, Petrus, German trockenbeerenauslese, Romanée-Conti, they can count on our Top 100 associates who can manage their needs.
Our clientele may have 20th-century masters, Modigliani, Miro, Chagall, or 18th-century Dutch seascapes by Cuyp, van Goyen or van de Velde. Our Top 100 associates have the direct contact to our certified experts who can evaluate and assess these treasures. This is true, too, for coin and stamp collections, for guns, watches, an LP record music library including Caruso and Stokowski 78s, Tiffany and Lalique brands or Romanov eggs from Fabergé, rare books, signatures (including John Hancock’s!) and other collectibles.
We connect qualified buyers with noteworthy sellers for your entire portfolio of assets or just a part. All of the fine things that people collect for lifestyle enhancement are in our purview. Consider us TOP 100 Advisors as your one-stop-shop global portfolio managers.
A Stellar Year for Sotheby’s
This was another great year for our Canadian Sotheby’s regional sales for collectibles, a record $925 million. “We are the world’s largest collector car auction house by total sales, with more than 40 years of proven results in the industry,” says Gord Duff, RM’s global head of auctions in Ontario, Canada.
He adds: “Our services are vertically integrated, from live and online auctions and private sales to estate planning and financial services, and our international team of car specialists provide an unsurpassed level of service to the global collector car market.”
In August 2018, for example, well-known Ferrari collector Greg Whitten of Seattle, Washington, sold his 1962 250 GTO, chassis 3413, through RM for a record $48.4 million — still the highest price ever achieved for a Prancing Horse at auction.
And this past year, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR ‘Uhlenhaut Coupé brought €135,000,000 to become the most valuable car ever sold and, from the same year, a Ferrari 410 Sport Spider by Scaglietti garnered more than $22 million to become the most valuable car sold during Monterey Car Week. In addition, a 2003 Ferrari F2003-GA brought 14,630,000 Swiss francs at Sotheby’s Luxury Week | Geneva, becoming the most valuable Formula One Car ever sold.
Also, the magnificently crafted 1924 Hispano-Suiza H6C “Tulipwood” Torpedo by Nieuport-Astra led the Masterworks of Design Collection, selling for $9.25 million. And, at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August, a car restored by RM Auto Restoration won its seventh Best of Show with a 1932 Duesenberg Model J Figoni Sports Torpedo.
