In the world of hypercars, where outrageous performance and jaw-dropping design battle for supremacy, the 2023 Hennessey Venom F5 roadster stands as an audacious testament to American ingenuity and unbridled ambition. This isn’t just another fast car – it’s a combination of speed, science and artistry, crafted to challenge the boundaries of what’s possible on four wheels. And with only 30 examples, each one is a sight to behold. This particular Venom F5 roadster (Lot #1403), selling with No Reserve at the 2025 Scottsdale Auction, Jan. 18-26 at WestWorld, is the second built in the series and has only clocked 537 miles since its 2023 delivery.

Beneath its striking Citrus Orange carbon-fiber body panels, the Venom F5 roadster hides a beastly heart: a Hennessey-developed 6.6-liter Fury V8. This twin-turbocharged, dry-sump lubricated powerhouse is engineered to unleash 1,817 horsepower, delivered to the rear wheels through a 7-speed automated manual transmission. Imagine harnessing the raw energy of a tornado – a fitting comparison, as the F5’s name nods to the most ferocious rating on the Fujita tornado scale. Hennessey didn’t want to just build a car; they wanted to engineer an elemental force.

Built around a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, the roadster’s lightweight construction is a critical component of its performance. Every body panel is crafted from carbon fiber, and, in this example, they gleam under a glossy clearcoat that highlights the intricate weave. The removable carbon-fiber roof panel transforms the car into an open-air rocket ship, while aerodynamic features like a front splitter, rear diffuser and a single-piece exposed rear panel ensure it slices through the air with surgical precision.

If the body is sculpted for beauty, the underpinnings are designed for dominance. Double-wishbone suspension with adjustable Penske coilover shock absorbers keeps the car planted, while 390mm carbon-ceramic rotors and blue-painted calipers deliver stopping power befitting a car capable of exceeding 300 mph. The forged alloy wheels, anodized in black, wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires – 19 inches up front and 20 inches at the rear – ensuring grip that matches the engine’s ferocity.

Electrically assisted steering, traction control, launch control and a lift system round out the Venom’s technical arsenal, ensuring the car remains drivable even when it’s not conquering a racetrack. With a plaque identifying this as the second Venom F5 roadster ever built, it’s clear that this car is a piece of automotive history.

Step inside, and the Venom F5 Roadster’s cockpit feels less like a car and more like a fighter jet. Carbon-fiber bucket seats wrapped in Citrus Orange and black leather set the tone, with matching accents on the exposed carbon-fiber door panels. Texas pride shines through in subtle details, such as Texas flags on the door handles and “F5” script embossed on the aluminum door hinges.

The carbon-fiber dash, console and sills create an atmosphere of high-tech minimalism, while touches like a touchscreen infotainment system, a windshield-mounted rearview camera screen and a touchpad climate-control knob provide modern comforts. A digital display sits ahead of the driver, offering configurable readouts that keep vital information front and center. The flat-top and flat-bottom steering yoke, trimmed in black leather, houses controls for drive modes, lighting and more, putting the car’s immense capability at your fingertips.

At the core of the Venom F5 roadster’s performance is its Fury V8, a powerplant that’s as much a work of art as it is a feat of engineering. Built on a Chevrolet LS architecture, the engine features a cast-iron block, aluminum cylinder heads, titanium intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves. Twin Precision 76mm ball-bearing turbochargers force-feed air into a billet aluminum intake manifold, complete with an integrated air-to-water intercooler system. The result? A factory-rated 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 ft/lbs of torque.

Power is channeled to the rear wheels through a single-clutch 7-speed transmission and a limited-slip differential, ensuring all that fury is harnessed effectively. Whether carving through corners or blasting down a straightaway, the Venom F5 roadster is an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride.

Beyond the car itself, Hennessey sweetens the ownership experience with an array of bespoke accessories. The Venom F5 roadster comes with an aluminum “treasure chest” housing a smaller carbon-fiber-lined “jewelry” box. Inside, you’ll find a chassis-number plaque, a key fob crafted from metal reportedly sourced from a space shuttle, a tow hook, a trickle charger, a set of shot glasses and other unique memorabilia. Also included are a carbon-fiber roof-panel stand, a custom car cover, Hennessey-branded apparel and an owner’s manual.

For those who dream of experiencing the fusion of speed, style and exclusivity, this Citrus Orange marvel offers a tantalizing glimpse of what’s possible when passion meets performance.
