A Spanish Colonial kept under wraps features luxury around every corner
Quietly set at the northeastern reach of Mummy Mountain and across from the Phoenix Mountain Preserve is a sprawling Spanish Colonial estate built with a blend of luxury and simplicity. Complete with seven bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, countless personal amenities and touches, and plenty of space for entertaining this winter, the Paradise Valley estate stands as a testament toward private and personalized luxury.
A roundabout drive–which can double as a car valet for guests–leads you to the arching driveway featuring hand-carved Cantera stone detailing, giving you just a sliver of what to expect throughout the home. Located at 5129 E Desert Jewel Dr., the home sits on an acre of desert dwelling, surrounded by rolling hills and views of Paradise Valley’s mountain region.
Inside the home, residents can breeze past the carved Spanish-style columns and walk from one room to the next along luxurious walkways and halls outfitted with the same hand-carved stone touches seen from the outside. A foyer breaks off into every direction, offering glimpses into a piano room, a dining room, a den, and a sitting room before the rest of the 7,900-square foot home is explored. Bathed in natural light, each room is built with plenty of personal attention to not only stand out on its own but blend in with the rest of the home’s luxurious aesthetics.
A master suite comes complete with high-arching ceilings, a fireplace for chilly desert nights, and large sliding windows to get a view of the natural surroundings. The bathroom features a garden tub for some personal relaxation time and faces dual walk-in closets. In continuing the theme of relaxation, residents who occupy the master suite can take advantage of the spa-like patio connecting the bedroom to the rest of the outside dwelling.
Family and friends can occupy the rest of the rooms, all complete with high ceilings, personal bathrooms, and enough space to relax during the holidays or on vacations.
And speaking of guest space, the home features a four-car garage, perfect for holidays and family vacations. Or, for car buffs, this presents a great space to house classic rides and work on passion projects under the hood.
Expecting more company to come stay? Then open up the adjoining two-bedroom casita, which houses a fully-flexed kitchen in the same styling as the main house. For those staying in the guest house, they can take advantage of their own piece of personalized luxury on the private patio featuring firepits and space for wall-to-wall entertainment.
Patio space for the main house offers up opportunities for unrivaled luxury and entertaining. A wraparound outdoor seating area surrounds a resort-style multi-level pool and jacuzzi. Back inside the estate, a grand room presents the perfect party hosting and the home theater offers up a night at the movies without having to worry about traffic or noisy theatergoers.
Needing to get some work done? A sizeable den has been converted into a space that lets you focus on weekend business. Need to get a good sweat in? Head down the limestone-tiled hallway to an in-house gym where you can start or end the day productively.
For any gourmets in the home, a large island sits between carved pantry doors and an open hearth-style cooking center, giving you room to create decadent dishes. And for wine aficionados, a wall-to-wall wine cellar allows you to house your most prized bottles of red.
