Highline Test Drives
When it comes to the presence of a road vehicle, size plays a large part, and they don’t come much larger than the new 2025 Nissan Armada PRO-4X. 17.5 feet long, almost 7 feet wide, and over 6.5 feet tall, the all-new Armada is a massive, 3-row, 8-seat full-size SUV. The curb weight of this generation tops out at just over 6,000 pounds, similar to an extended length Cadillac Escalade. With a torquey twin-turbo V6 and 9-speed auto trans, the Armada feels much smaller and easier to place in traffic than the size of the vehicle would suggest, even with the off-road-focused PRO-4X trim package, the quick acceleration and well-mannered handling would make even the most nervous of drivers confident behind the wheel.
Our press vehicle was finished in Two-Tone Alpine Metallic & Super Black Trim, providing handsome looks and an intriguing color combination that most modern luxury SUVs have adopted. No longer are full-size SUVs released in only black, white, and a few shades of silver. Buyers can still choose the more traditional color options for their Armada, but Nissan has also provided a unique variety of colors as well, such as Deep Ocean Blue Pearl, Alpine Metallic, Coulis Red Pearl and a number of two-tone color schemes. Special to the PRO-4X trim level, small orange accents can be found both on the inside and outside of the vehicle. Optional on the PRO-4X are Nismo (yes, the same Nismo synonymous with Nissan’s most aggressive sports cars), bronze or black finish 18” off-road wheels.
Inside the Armada PRO-4X is why this full-size SUV deserves to be called a luxury SUV. Interior creature comforts include tri-zone climate control, quilted leather heated & ventilated seats, second-row heated seats, 12-way power adjustable front seats, a 14.3” digital dashboard w/ NissanConnect & SiriusXM satellite radio, and a premium 12-speaker Klipsch audio system. Fit and finish of all surfaces and systems feel very premium as well, with piano black buttons and trim throughout the infotainment and interior climate controls. The technology featured on this top-tier trim package includes 3D Intelligent Enhanced Around View monitoring with enhanced wide view, invisible hood view, and front wide view, intelligent rear view mirror, trailer backup assist, sway control, sonar sensors front & rear, and a motion-activated liftgate. With enough parking sensors and cameras to land a plane, maneuvering the new Armada in even the busiest Trader Joe’s parking lot is not a problem.
PRO-4X 4W trim is the Armada for customers who enjoy off-road adventures or the path less paved. The Armada’s many different drive modes, diff. and HI/LO gearbox, and hill start & decent assist means this SUV is well capable of “utility” when needed. However, with the impressive adaptive electronic air suspension, just because you’re off-road doesn’t mean you shouldn’t experience a smooth and comfortable ride. 425 hp and 516 lbs. of torque from the twin-turbo V6 makes it the most powerful Armada ever. The new 9-speed automatic transmission with 40% more gear ratio also means the SUV has both more acceleration and fuel efficiency than previous generations as well.
The 2025 Nissan Armada PRO-4X’s is a formidable presence in the full-size luxury SUV market. With its impressive size, handsome design, and luxurious features, the Armada combines utility and comfort in a way few vehicles can match at its $80,000 price point. Whether navigating city streets or tackling off-road terrain, the Armada offers a refined driving experience, thanks to its advanced technology, high-performance engine, and adaptive air suspension system. Its spacious, luxury interior, paired with modern technology, ensures both comfort and style. The Nissan Armada PRO-4X SUV is ready to take on any adventure. For customers seeking a full-size SUV that can do it all, the 2025 Armada PRO-4X has a presence that can not be ignored.
