More than 10,000 hot rod fans are expected to attend the Goodguys 23rd Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals at WestWorld of Scottsdale November 20–22, 2020. Showcasing 2,000-plus hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, and trucks, the event is organized by Pleasanton, California-based Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, the world’s largest hot rodding group, with 70,000-plus active members.

Presented by Barrett-Jackson, the Southwest Nationals has been planned with local police and fire departments as well as health and safety officials to ensure safety and cleanliness while maintaining the signature Goodguys atmosphere. WestWorld encompasses 270 acres and has 120,000-plus square feet of indoor exhibit space, providing ample room for social distancing.

Face coverings will be mandatory for all registered participants, spectators, vendors and staff, and sanitation stations will be placed on the grounds. Additional staff and resources will also be allocated for frequent cleaning in high-traffic areas such as restrooms, entrances and merchandise booths, explains Marc Meadors, president and CEO for Goodguys, founded in 1983.

In addition, The FAST® “AutoCrosser” of the Year title will be contested in the Duel in the Desert. This year’s format will be a race-in of the 32 fastest cars on the grounds. Qualifying begins Friday and continues through 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, with eliminations beginning at 2 p.m.

On Sunday, All American Sunday will welcome all years of American-made or -powered show cars and trucks in the Show & Shine and on the AutoCross track.
