“The 8,550 square foot symphony of a home is elevated above the Sonoran desert like a crown on a regal knoll – and all around are unobstructed views where no one else can ever build,” says Frank Aazami, listing agent with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty Private Client Group. His associate listing agent, David Arustamian, explained that the greatest variety and some of the most interesting homes are found in Fountain Valley, known for its impressive water namesake, once the tallest in the world.
The showcase estate that appears like a giant grand piano from above the air is located here. It is a Tuscan style home replete with unobstructed city light views and scenic views of glorious mountains such as Four Peaks, the Superstition Mountains, the McDowell Mountains, and also boasts its own natural desert landscape within the property’s 3.3 acres. Saguaro Lake is nearby as well as numerous shopping and dining adventures.
“No expense was spared in construction and it took five years to complete this vast estate that is an entertainer’s, as well as a car enthusiast’s dream home,” David told us. Another interesting observation by him was that there are “no hard corners” to be found within the interior nor the exterior areas that are smooth and rounded. Even the pattern of the pavers used on the driveway, are circular in nature.
From the first moment one enters the private gated entrance, this masterfully designed place boasts exquisite outdoor verandahs, water features, fire-pits, courtyards, swimming pools, outdoor kitchen and BBQ, Jacuzzi, grotto waterfall, streams, and an outdoor kitchen/BBQ. Eight air-condition garages with Travertine flooring must be seen. Of course, the meticulously kept landscaped areas with Palo Verde trees, Saguaros, and other Sonoran plants of the low rise home, reflects the composition of the natural state of topography and sense of the desert. The current owner was in the business of creating perfumes with notes of all sorts that he said was to: “Create a symphony of wondrous scents, just like creating a symphony of architectural nuances.”
They have done that perfectly inside the extraordinary home of 5 bedrooms and 5.5 baths where you will find a split-level floor plan with two Master Suites on one side, and an additional two Junior Suites and guest quarters. Over-sized windows, abundant natural light and remote control chandeliers are additional touches that make the composition of this house so lovely. The flow is a natural part of the ease of living in this property. A 12-seat movie theater along with a wet bar makes it supremely comfortable to entertain guests and family; a delightful Italian 750 bottle Wine Cellar adjacent is enticing indeed.
Multiple formal and informal dining areas along with the chef’s kitchen features granite counter-tops, custom Alder cabinetry, dual dish washers, Subzero fridge and Dacor appliances round out the joy of cooking and entertaining indoors. This plan also allows the rest of the home to be effortlessly open with tall walls of windows. Nature thus becomes the central element of design.
The next owner of this home will have more than just a sophisticated interest in architecture and the property’s resources; the buyer will undoubtedly eschew the ordinary and have a passion for the finest. A consistent palette of warm woods, stacked stone, marble, and glass reflecting and integrating the landscape – is what makes the “music” of this home so enchanting – a true Italian concerto not to be missed.
