The Desert Classic Concours d’Elegance

This annual world-class exhibition of classic cars features more than 200 of the finest examples of automotive excellence. Exhibit areas include displays of other collectible items such as jewelry, watches and art. Held at the legendary La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, California, visitors enjoy fine food, beverages and music while viewing rarely seen automobiles, many from private collections and museums. The featured display for the 2011 event will be ‘100 Years of Indy Cars’ to mark the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500. New this year is the Vintage Car Auction from EG Auctions offering an impressive selection of classic cars focusing on influential automotive design, spanning the decades. Additional motorsports lifestyle events are held in the preceding days to create an exciting weekend of events that has been ranked as one of the “Top Ten Classic Car Shows” in the world. The Desert Classic Concours d’Elegance is a non-profit organization and proceeds benefit local charities.
6:30am – 9:30am: Placement of cars on the Field
9:30am – 12noon: Judging
10:00am – Gates open to Spectators
10:00am – 4pm: Vendor Area and Food & Wine Garden Open
10:00am – 12:30pm: Music & Entertainment
11:00am – Vintage Car Auction by EG Auctions begins
12:30pm -1:30pm: Presentation of Significant Cars & Interviews, Center Stage
1:30pm – Awards presentation begins, Center Stage
4:00pm – Best of Show presentation, event concludes
