We had the opportunity to take the all-new Cadillac CELESTIQ out for a proper Highline Test Drives, and we came away thoroughly impressed. From its commanding presence — with a wheelbase stretching over three meters — to its sleek shooting brake-style rear, the CELESTIQ turns heads before you even step inside. But once you do, the experience becomes something else entirely. The cabin feels secluded, immersive, and undeniably upscale. Everything you see and touch exudes craftsmanship and exclusivity. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or not, the moment you sit inside the CELESTIQ, it’s clear: this isn’t your dad’s Cadillac.
UNMISTAKABLE PROPORTIONS, EVOCATIVE OF PERFORMANCE
The CELESTIQ’s striking silhouette begins with its long dash-to-axle ratio — a design element historically associated with performance vehicles — giving it elegant yet athletic proportions. Precision aluminum castings and an advanced architectural platform allow for dramatic 23-inch wheels without compromise to ride quality or interior comfort. These castings not only allow for robust structure and seamless aesthetics but also enable efficient integration of technology while maintaining a sleek, low profile.
ARCHITECTURE BUILT AROUND COMFORT AND TECHNOLOGY
CELESTIQ’s low, flat floor and spacious four-seat configuration allow each passenger to enjoy an equal level of comfort. Each seat is independently adjustable and features heating, cooling, and ventilation — even heated armrests and neck scarves. These are paired with a state-of-the-art Gentherm ClimateSense® four-zone microclimate system with 33 personalized comfort zones, making CELESTIQ the first production vehicle to offer this level of thermal customization.
Adding to the sense of space is an industry-first Fixed Smart Glass Roof. Using Suspended Particle Device technology, this all-glass roof allows each passenger to individually control the light entering their area of the cabin. Its absence of a traditional headliner or sunshade also increases headroom and emphasizes the car’s minimalist, futuristic feel.
Supporting all this technology is CELESTIQ’s bespoke 48-volt electrical system, a digital-first infrastructure that replaces conventional switches with over 30 virtual controls. These seamlessly integrate with a Google Built-In infotainment experience, allowing for intuitive control of every system.
AVANT-GARDE DESIGN THAT BREAKS THE MOLD
The exterior is both dramatic and intentional. A fastback silhouette, vertical lighting signatures, and seamless transitions between materials embody Cadillac’s Art of Travel design philosophy. The CELESTIQ breathes confidence with its brushed aluminum detailing, carbon fiber accents, and real metal throughout — from the aluminum grille to the eTrunk™ lining.
Lighting is a spectacle in itself. More than 1,600 individually addressable LEDs create a rich animation that begins when the vehicle senses its driver nearby, with the Cadillac crest illuminating first, then cascading light sequences along the front and rear. The vertical lighting elements double as charge indicators, while a Cadillac-first Digital Micromirror Device headlamp system utilizes 1.3 million pixels per side for truly customizable lighting precision.
TECHNOLOGICAL BRILLIANCE, INSIDE AND OUT
The technological centerpiece is a 55-inch pillar-to-pillar HD display, the largest in the segment. Behind a single pane of glass are two distinct displays: one for the driver, offering 8K-level clarity, and one for the passenger, shielded from driver view using Digital Blinds Active Privacy. Additional screens include a front 11-inch command center, an 8-inch rear command console, and individual 12.6-inch entertainment displays for rear passengers.
Even the steering wheel décor is a technological showcase, 3D-printed to achieve forms impossible by traditional means. A crystal controller in the center console — etched with the Cadillac Goddess — acts as the main interface for the vehicle’s functions.
UNPARALLELED SOUND AND SILENCE
CELESTIQ features a 38-speaker AKG Studio Reference Audio System, plus four exterior speakers for a total of 42. Advanced technologies such as 3D Surround, Conversation Enhancement, and Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement deliver a nuanced soundscape tailored to the mood. When silence is preferred, CELESTIQ’s Next Generation Active Road Noise Cancellation and 7.5-mm thick acoustic glass roof offer unmatched cabin isolation.
A Cadillac-first Vehicle Exterior Sound System creates bespoke propulsion sounds that blend with the vehicle’s electric nature, enriching the driving experience.
ULTRA CRUISE AND BEYOND
CELESTIQ is designed for the future with Ultra Cruise, Cadillac’s next-generation hands-free driving system. The vehicle comes equipped with all the hardware needed for continuous over-the-air upgrades, including advanced sensor systems and full active safety technology.
Remote Auto Parking allows the car to park and unpark itself, even with the driver outside the vehicle, while a new connected camera platform enables full remote access to onboard cameras, interior monitoring, crash recording, and theft alerts via mobile interface.
HANDCRAFTED EXCLUSIVITY AT THE ARTISAN CENTER
Every CELESTIQ is hand-assembled at the GM Global Technical Center’s Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan — a first for any production vehicle. In this high-security clean-room environment, each vehicle is treated as a commissioned work of art. From hand-wrapped leather interiors to fine-milled, polished, and anodized metalwork, no two CELESTIQs will ever be alike.
Clients work directly with the Cadillac Design Team to customize every aspect of their vehicle, down to developing exclusive color palettes and one-of-one finishes. This bespoke experience is the culmination of Cadillac’s 120-year legacy in design and innovation, re-imagined for a new era of electric ultra-luxury.
