From its sprawling and decadent facade to its personalized touches of handcrafted materials, a beautiful five-bedroom estate rests comfortably at the base of Mummy Mountain. Surrounded by unmatched desert views and personal sunsets, this 8,000 square foot Mediterranean home is a testament of luxury and meticulous workmanship harnessed by an envious level of privacy.
Built by American Traditions in 2008, this exquisite and timeless home was built with elegant features and a strong foundation. Located at 5401 E. Mockingbird Ln. in Paradise Valley, the home comes complete with separate guest suite, a split floor plan with a children’s wing, wine room, butler’s pantry, and more. You can take in personal views of the lush dessert surroundings on a daily basis or get lost as you wander through each detailed and exquisite room.
From the moment you arrive at the home, which sits near Doubletree and 52nd Street, it’s impossible to not be taken aback by the sheer expansiveness of its entrance. A semi-circle drive leads past secluded desert landscaping, revealing brick walks and burning gardens. Two side yards wrap around their respective sides, leading to endless entertaining possibilities out back. Heading to the massive dual front doors you’ll be greeted by side-by-side fountains, modern and tranquil in appearance.
Around back, family, friends and other guests can take in the spacious surroundings and find opportunities to be entertained around every corner. Hosting a dinner? Open the patio doors and welcome guests to breathe in the desert air while meals are served. Is barbecue more your thing? A built-in grill allows you to create the cookout of your dreams.
While dinner parties and seasonal barbecues are reason enough to take in the beautiful backyard, you still have a number of other options to keep you from heading back inside. Swim or laze away an afternoon in the pool. Looking for some personalized comfort? Take the steps up to the master courtyard’s fireplace that’s perfectly crafted and positioned to hold evening parties or quiet personal nights with a backdrop etched out by Mummy Mountain.
“The best attractions of this house would be beautiful views of Mummy Mountain, the spacious backyard, and simply being in the heart of Paradise Valley with access to the most important part of city,” says Frank Aazami, of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty.
If you do find it necessary to head back inside, it’s impossible to not appreciate the level of distinct handcrafted design furnished throughout the house. In the kitchen, custom cabinetry outfits the walls, outlining a feeling of exquisite detail. Families can be well-stocked with a full-on butler’s pantry, a perfect space that’s can act as a station to bring creative and entertaining dinner parties to life. Have a wine collection that you want to show off and build on? Step into the wall-to-wall wine room that can hold your personal collection of top shelf wines.
More into collecting cars than wine? The semi-circle auto court provides space for your flexed car lineup to rest if the four-car garage isn’t big enough. The home essentially doubles as a car enthusiast’s dream with plenty of room to keep your cars safe and sound.
