Rock legend and Valley resident Alice Cooper will help transport automotive fans to the Roaring ’20s and beyond for the 4th Camelback Motor Show November 1. The virtual event will be aired on YouTube and Facebook in conjunction with lead sponsor Hagerty Insurance Agency LLC, the world’s largest provider of collector car insurance.
To celebrate great vehicles of the early part of the 20th century, the Camelback Motor Show is calling for all pre-war-era cars that are either restored to factory specifications or completely unrestored for the Preservation Class (with required eligibility information).
“In its fourth event, the Camelback Vintage Motor Show continues to bring cars, car lovers and the community together,” says the event’s founder, Valley businessman West Kenyon. “This fall’s event reaffirms that tradition in a format that is safe for our car owners and our guests.”
Other sponsors are Highline Autos, Griot’s Garage, Camelback Bible Church, Repro Parts (D-Jetronic), Flo’s, Acclaim Collector Car & Transmission and AZ MetroScapes Inc.
The event’s special guest, Cooper has all eight cylinders fired: “I’m from Detroit, the Motor City. My heart runs on high octane, 400 horsepower, four on the floor, muscle car fuel. My dad was a used-car salesman in Detroit in the 1950s. Cars have always been part of my life.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted him as a member in 2011.
“When my friend West Kenyon presented this concept of a classic car show, I said, ‘I’m in!’” he adds. “I’m eager to partner with West and Camelback Motor Show to benefit the nonprofit I helped start 25 years ago: Solid Rock. West told me: ‘No black leather jacket, wear a tux.’”
“Hagerty is proud to partner with the Camelback Motor Show for the upcoming fall virtual event. As with its first three editions, this seasonal event brings exceptional cars to the community and supports great local charities,” says Sam Power, Regional Territory Manager – Arizona, for the Traverse City, Michigan-based company.
The Camelback Motor Shows benefit two charities: Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Center and Hope Women’s Center. Donations are welcome.
The Rock Teen Center provides free training in music, dance, sound and recording, lighting and staging, video production and art in a supervised facility for young people to engage with their peers. And, the Hope Center assists abused women and their children at five Valley locations.
Camelback Motor Show will choose 15 cars from submitted entries through Sept. 28, and the 15 cars and their owners will be staged for filming and interviews, Kenyon explains.
“During the show, Alice Cooper will select our three winners: Best of Show, and 2nd and 3rd place. Alice and I will FaceTime as he congratulates the winners,” he adds. “They will also receive the Camelback Motor Show Crystal Award and a collection of premium car care products from Griot’s Garage. The final footage aired on November 1 will include a personal congratulatory message from Alice to each of the winners.”
“Highline Autos is again proud to be involved with the Camelback Vintage Motor Show,” says Brian Graff, founder and owner of Scottsdale-based marketing company. “Join us for a virtual program celebrating great cars and car lovers.”
