Hublot sets sail on a voyage of infinite blue with the Big Bang Unico Blue Ceramic Caribbean — a timepiece inspired by the horizon where sky melts into water. More than a watch, it is a meditation on color and form: the shimmer of sunlit lagoons, the quiet depth of the open sea, and the luminous skies that arch across the Caribbean. Crafted in radiant ceramic, the piece captures the timeless allure of the sea.
“From the conch shell—an enduring symbol of the region—to the shifting blue tones that mirror the Caribbean waters, this timepiece is a true voyage on the wrist. It reflects Hublot’s philosophy of Art of Fusion, where materials and inspiration unite to bring the natural beauty of the Caribbean into the world of watchmaking.”
-Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot
Crafted in microblasted blue ceramic, the 44mm case captures the duality of the sea: deep azure blue for the mystery of the ocean’s depths, contrasted with lighter blue tones. The dial features a gradient of blues, reminiscent of sunlight playing across shifting tides, while the chronograph counter at 9 o’clock is adorned with a stylized conch shell—a cultural icon of the islands, long celebrated in music, folklore, and culinary tradition. The open worked dial echoes the architectural rhythm of Caribbean cities while revealing the beating heart of the UNICO movement within.
At its core beats the MHUB1280 UNICO 2 manufacture caliber, a movement that embodies both power and precision. The 72-hour power reserve ensures the freedom to roam—like an endless journey from island to island—while its flyback chronograph reflects the tempo and improvisation of Caribbean music. Visible through the sapphire caseback etched with a map of the Caribbean archipelago, the movement harmonizes with the watch’s ceramic tones, linking mechanics to geography in a single element of design.
Two interchangeable straps—blue-and-white rubber and sky-blue-and-white rubber—evoke the twin moods of the Caribbean: crashing surf and tranquil skies. Presented in a sky-blue lacquered box featuring a rendering of the Caribbean islands, the packaging extends the story: a keepsake that recalls the clarity of the sea and the expanse of the horizon.
