Approximately 300–400 guests enjoyed 90 vintage cars during the second Camelback Motor Show October 19 at the Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
This show’s theme was Deutsche Auto Fest, featuring German cars 1985 and before, including Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volkswagen. Mary Dellai’s 1956 Mercedes-Benz 220S convertible was awarded Best of Show –– the first time she has entered the car in a judged event.
“The show went very well. A sincere thank-you to all of our sponsors who have made this second show a great success. A special thank-you to James Patrick of Patrick Motor Sports for bringing over 20 rare and very beautiful Porsches for our first lawn display,” says the event’s founder, Phoenix resident West Kenyon, who adds that subsequent shows will include a concours-style lawn display.
The show raised $1,600 for Hope Women’s Center, which in 2018 served more than 1,600 women and their families at four Valley locations with programs to help support physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The total raised for the center from both Camelback Motor Show events is $3,700 (hopewomenscenter.org).
“Proceeds will help in providing needed supplies such as food, diapers, toiletries and utility and transportation assistance,” says Tammy Abernathy, founder and CEO. “We are so grateful.”
Sponsoring the event were Barrett-Jackson, Highline Autos, Hagerty, Camelback Bible Church, Patrick Motor Sports, Flo’s, Acclaim Collector Car & Transmission, Palacios Upholstery, Biltmore Pro Print, Repro Parts, Mosbrucker Mileage Towing, Santucci Orthodontics, Pinnacle Peak Eye Care, Mitch’s Econo Lube, Signarama, Street Side Classics and Edelweiss German Restaurant. The Eur Haus German food truck, also a sponsor, was on site.
“Hagerty was proud to partner with the Camelback Motor Show for the Deutsche Auto Fest. We look forward to future events at this venue that will drive the future of the collector car hobby forward,” says Sam Power, Regional Territory manager – Arizona for Traverse City, Michigan-based Hagerty Insurance Agency LLC.
And, Brain Graff, publisher of Scottsdale-based Highline Autos, says, “We congratulate West Kenyon for the success of his second Camelback Motor Show and we look forward to sharing in his next celebration of great automobiles.”
