Arizona has always been known as a paradise for auto enthusiasts. From wide freeways for commuters to cruising along the desert highways to heading up north on a motorcycle trip, Arizona offers up plenty of opportunities to get behind some kind of wheel with more ease than other locations.
But for those who take their hobby of driving to the next level, Arizona is also an enviable location to rev your engines and flex your racing muscles. That’s what the people at APEX Motor Club have been promoting since they opened their doors earlier this year.
APEX Motor Club, based in Maricopa, houses multiple tracks for different types of autos and their drivers looking to test out everything from speed to handling on its road course circuit to off-road area. Members of the motorsport country club, the only one of its kind within a major metropolitan area, can look forward to private garages, karting track, a revved up clubhouse with swimming pool, gym, and restaurant in the coming months as APEX builds out its grounds in phases.
APEX is also a unique place for members to hop in the driver’s seat of a new show-stopping ride, like international race car brand, Radical, a company that just teamed up with APEX to expand its North American network. APEX has placed an initial three-car order of Radical’s best-selling SR3 track and race car in order to support its intensive program of more than 275 track days per year. The 2.27-mile circuit is already in operation with an additional 2.25-mile Phase 2 planned for construction in 2020.
“APEX Motor Club is excited to bring the Radical race car to our members and facility, due to its ideal combination of capability and driver enjoyment. The Radical SR3 is perfect for drivers of all backgrounds from gentleman racer to professional driver,” said Jason Plotke, President & Co-Founder of APEX Motor Club. “We feel this is an important product in racing DNA, so much so, that we have incorporated the Radical to be the first official class in our upcoming Member racing series this year. We are looking forward to growing the partnership and showing our members just how proficient the Radical race car is on track.”
Radical, based in the United Kingdom, currently offers up eight heart-racing rides, including the SR3, a 226bhp bolt of lightning on wheels now for sale at APEX.
“As an amateur racer it’s rare for me to be offered a test drive in a purpose-built sports racing car, so it was a treat for me to test drive the Radical SR3 at Apex Motor Club, where I am a member,” said Richard, a member of APEX. “While the Radical SR3 is certainly a no-nonsense race car, it is also engineered and built in such a way that running costs and maintenance should be moderate, given the performance levels. If you are ready to advance your track driving to the next level, the Radical SR3 is worthy of your consideration. But it comes with a warning- it’s highly addictive!”
APEX offers a racing series for its members, putting automotive enthusiasts, seasoned drivers, and thrill seekers alike in the driver’s seat. The partnership of APEX and Radical means a dedicated race class in the series for Radical race car owners. Whether a member track day or racing series weekend, APEX members can get the full-throttle experience of life in the fast lane.
Radical company has sold more than 2,000 cars globally and looks to continue its expansion into the world of consumer racing with its introduction to the Arizona market. “In looking for partners to represent Radical in its ‘Race the World’ mission, APEX stands out as the ideal track facility to enjoy our product, with all of the driver training, support and social elements demanded by our customers,” added Joe Anwyll, Radical Sportscars’ CEO. “North America accounts for over half of our annual production so we know what a valuable addition Apex Motor Club’s unique layout, position and business offering will be to our drivers.”
APEX members can take advantage of a wide range of concierge-level services that extends to their APEX Driver Academy and private one-on-one coaching with industry experts and racing legends. Members can also purchase a private, trackside garage for the ultimate in track access and convenience.
