2013 Cadillac XTS
The 2013 XTS luxury sedan has arrived at Lund Cadillac Company — delivering the marque’s signature luxury and latest technology to one of the Valley’s most distinguished car dealerships.

Elevating even the celebrated Cadillac portfolio, the new front-wheel-drive XTS offers space, elegance and dramatic presence with technically advanced systems and components for today’s digital-age customers.

Built with ultra-high-strength steel for strength and crash protection, the XTS is offered as a well-equipped standard model and three optional collections: Luxury, Premium and Platinum — the last, the highest level of technology and luxury, including a unique front appearance, wheels and interior colors, materials and trim. MSRP at Lund starts at $44,995.
Power and Performance
XTS power is the direct-injected DOHC 3.6L V-6, rated at 304 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque. Weight-savings strategies for the aluminum-block LFX engine include a composite intake manifold and an integrated cylinder head/exhaust manifold design, together saving almost 20 pounds compared with traditional components.
A Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission with tap-shift control connects to a Haldex all-wheel-drive system with electronically controlled limited-slip differential that splits torque between the rear wheels.
Standard, too, is Magnetic Ride Control, providing real-time damping for sure-footedness and comfort; variable-effort steering; a linked H-arm design with air springs for the rear suspension; four-channel antilock disc brakes (Brembo front) from Cadillac’s V-Series of high-performance models; 19-inch wheels; and HiPer Strut front suspension; and StabiliTrak electronic stability control.
Magnetic Ride Control “reads” the road each millisecond and instantly changes damping. Instead of conventional mechanical-valve shocks, the system uses electronically controlled shocks filled with a magneto-rheological fluid with minute iron particles. Under a magnetic charge, the iron particles immediately provide damping resistance.
Based on the MacPherson strut front suspension design, HiPer Strut features dual-path top mountings that separate the transfer of spring and damper loads to the body structure. This improves ride-and-handling characteristics through camber control; impact isolation; torque steer reduction; and adjusting vehicle sensitivity from tire irregularities and wheel imbalance.
On CUE
CUE, Cadillac User Experience, is a customizable user interface featuring an eight-inch center-screen in the center stack, the faceplate below the screen and steering wheel controls. CUE features industry-first capacitive-touch control with proximity sensing, haptic feedback and gesture and natural voice recognition. Capacitive touch is found on the best tablets and smartphones.
In addition, each 2013 Cadillac XTS buyer will receive an iPad with an app replicating the center screen. OnStar, standard on every Cadillac, will have a direct link to these CUE experts as well, for any owners with questions or wishing to provide feedback.
Other standard XTS features include adaptive remote start; an audio system with Bose premium eight-speaker sound; SiriusXM Satellite Radio (with free trial period) and HD radio; OnStar for one year; dual-zone automatic climate control; illuminated entry and courtesy lighting; Soleil Keisel leather seating surfaces; leather-accented steering wheel with wood accents and tap up/tap down transmission controls; multiple air bags; and visual, audible and vibration safety alerts to give you time to react to driving situations and make changes.
As options or part of the upgrade collections, XTS buyers may add a fully wrapped leather interior with microfiber sueded headliner as well as premium wood trim on the steering wheel, console, center stack, instrument panel and door panels; heated and ventilated seats and steering wheel; Bose Studio Surround Sound with 14-speaker system; tri-zone automatic climate control; reconfigurable gauge cluster with driver information center; Opus full-leather seats with mini-perforated inserts; power rear window shade and manual rear side window shades; and the Driver Awareness and Driver Assist safety packages, with features such as Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control, which automatically adjusts following distances.
For enjoying this automotive lifestyle, the five-passenger XTS is the most spacious Cadillac sedan, with room comparable to full-size sedans, particularly in the rear seat area. And trunk space — 18 cubic feet — exceeds that of many midsize and full-size competitors, offering room for five or more suitcases.
Outside, XTS standards are equally generous, with eight exterior colors available as well as other features such as heated outside mirrors with auto-dimming feature, turn-signal indicators and puddle lamps; high-intensity discharge headlamps with Twilight Sentinel; LED center high-mounted rear stop lamp; and a capless fuel-filling system. Available are features such as a chrome/satin-chrome grille, illuminating door handles and a rearview camera.
