15th Pebble Beach RetroAuto and Pebble Beach Classic Car Forum Presented by AIG and BridgePoint are August 15–17

In its 15th year, the Pebble Beach RetroAuto and the Pebble Beach Classic Car Forum presented by AIG and BridgePoint return to the ballrooms of The Inn at Spanish Bay, 2700 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach, California, August 15–17.

The two events are held in conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which culminates Monterey Car Week Sunday, August 18.

A luxury marketplace for the automotive enthusiast, RetroAuto is a nonticketed event which offers collectibles, automobilia, auto parts, original poster art and posters, books and literature, fine art, photography, luxury items and technological tools from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.

“RetroAuto is the official automotive marketplace of the Pebble Beach Concours, and the curated event attracts enthusiasts who are looking for additions to their collections or the latest in auto-inspired necessities,” says Katee Waller, Concours brand manager who oversees both events.

The Pebble Beach Classic Car Forum invites car designers, racing greats and automotive-industry figures to discuss car trends and other topics.

The event begins Thursday, August 15, and continues through Saturday, August 17, with times varying for the sessions. Most are free, but a small fee is charged for a few. Seats are limited, and reservations are required for all.

The sessions include Cover Story: How Hot Rod Magazines Spread the Sport across the Country, with moderator Ken Gross, Bruce Meyer and Jim Miller, Thursday, August 15, 3:30 p.m.; Hurley Haywood and Patrick Dempsey talking Porsche racing, moderated by Spike Feresten, Friday, August 16, 11 a.m.; and, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 17, Donald Osborne and Jay Leno discussing Replica, Re-creation or Revival — When Should What’s Gone Stay Gone?

Other participants include Wayne Carini, Chip Foose, the Moal brothers, Andy Leach, Pulitzer-Prize winner Paul Ingrassia, Adam Carolla and Craig Jackson, who will discuss industry trends.

New this year is the Pebble Beach Concours Sketchbattle Pro, a live automotive sketching competition in front of an audience, Friday, August 16, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Those who wish to participate should contact Brook Banham, Brook@Middlecott.com.
